Beaver Island Rural Health Center and Beaver Island EMS have a very close working relationship. Many BIEMS emergency patients are transported to the BIRHC for further evaluation and preparation for transport even though BIEMS is a completely independent ALS agency. Most BIRHC emergency patients are transported by BIEMS when the patient’s illness or injury is serious.
